Position Objective

Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. is undergoing a HR transformation and we invite you to be a part of this exciting change.   

We are evolving our Human Resources function to align more strategically with the vision and goals of our business partners and seek an experienced HR professional who will add value to the organization by providing expert guidance and support to our internal customers and drive our HR strategy.

We are searching for a dynamic and highly talented Senior HR Business Partner with people management experience and a strong employee relations focus to partner with our East Region (U.S.) teams, providing both strategic and hands-on HR leadership.  This position will be based out of our Chicago office and report to the Director, Human Resources.

Essential Job Functions

In this role you will contribute to the success of the Central Region business units by spending your time:

  • Partnering with senior leaders within the East Region of Konica Minolta to align the HR and business strategies by:
  • Proactively recognizing and responding to organizational requirements and articulating new ways for HR to support business objectives;
  • Identifying immediate and future talent needs and helping to execute a talent strategy that responds to current and changing business needs which includes development and retention strategies in addition to succession planning.
  • Helping drive change management to support for the company’s continued transition to Workplace of the Future.
  • Leveraging HR data to inform and influence key decisions, process improvements and policy changes.
  • Communicating and, when required, interpreting company policies, procedures and programs and ensuring that internal customers are aware of HR initiatives designed to support and enhance company culture across all channels.
  • Implementing and delivering HR programs, process and training to employees and managers.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor; providing prompt and effective support to management in coaching, motivating and counseling employees and in responding to complaints or conflicts from employees and/or managers. 
  • The Sr. HR Business Partner will supervise one or more HR Business Partners and will plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline; address complaints and resolve problems.  When necessary, will also be responsible to interview, hire and train direct report(s). 

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • This position requires experience in all aspects and capabilities within Human Resources.
  • Has the ability to understand the HR implications of various business strategies; translate them into effective HR management solutions and drive them to execution.
  • Strong business acumen with experience using data to drive solutions.
  • Can effectively build an inclusive culture with deep ER experience resolving problems and coaching leaders.
  • Demonstrates excellence in verbal, written and interpersonal communications, problem analysis, leadership, and team building and a record of establishing and maintaining strong internal and external customer relationships.
  • Willing to roll up your sleeves with a “get it done” approach;
  • Has solid PC and HRIS application literacy (MS Office, Email, Internet plus experience with sophisticated HRIS and assessment tools).

Experience, Educational Reqts and Certifications

  • BS/BA degree and at least eight years of professional human resources experience and a minimum of two years managing professional level staff.  Advanced degree, preferred.
