Position Objective

The Konica Minolta Business Innovation Center (BIC) located in Foster City, CA, near the heart of Silicon Valley, is one of 5 global BICs with the charter of accelerating transformational growth through customer focused innovation. We accomplish this by exploiting emerging IP / technologies and incubating new IP internally to augment the existing product / solution portfolio.

We’re looking for an idea-driven individual who is (really) excited about the future of technology, who embodies the go-getter entrepreneurial mentality, who is passionate about building new businesses and driving impactful organizational change.

As an integral member of the Business Innovation team, the Associate is a hands-on entrepreneurial individual who will focus on all aspects of new product incubation and launch. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of product strategy and have a track record of strong cross-functional coordination. Familiarity of technology domains is desired. Exceptional communication skills are necessary.
 

Essential Job Functions

•    This is a HANDS ON execution role
•    Identify and quantify existing and emerging market problems
•    Ideate solutions to solve the market problems
•    Drive development and execution of strategies for multiple initiatives / projects; from concept to commercialization through a rigorous stage gate process
•    Perform market analysis to develop business cases for solutions that fit within the BIC strategy
•    Build a pipeline of relationships with organizations that have emerging technology that fits the market need and BIC strategy 
•    Leverage existing and develop new relationships with the customers to identify early adopter and pilot opportunities
•    Collaborate with Konica Minolta Business Units to plan and launch full commercialization
•    Support strategic planning and business development
•    Understand the KM business line and geographical strategic gaps and continuously monitor the marketplace for potential solutions
•    Assist in developing appropriate collateral in support of market testing and GTM preparation

•    Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external partners as part of a solutions-based process 
•    Passion for knowledge, drive for excellence, demonstrated leadership capabilities, and communication skills
•    Experience with strategic planning, process management and finance a plus 
•    Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail 
•    Ability to work independently toward successful outcomes with minimum direct supervision
•    Prior experience working in cross-business application or solution selling
•    Effective client negotiation and contracting skills
•    Effective interpersonal and written communications kills
•    Must have a proactive can-do attitude with a unique ability to lead by doing/example

Experience, Educational Reqts and Certifications
  • Have 3 years minimum in a technology based product management / development or innovation role
  • Have 3 years business development experience within one or more vertical markets in a B2B model
  • Bachelor's degree in a science / technology major with MBA preferred
