Position Objective

Konica Minolta currently has an exciting opportunity for a Public Relations Manager!


The Public Relations Manager reports to the VP, Strategic Business Development and will lead the public relations efforts for Konica Minolta Business Solutions, USA. The main goal of this position is to develop and implement public relations programs across all industry segments and across all channels of distribution that support the company’s business strategies. This individual will serve as a representative of Konica Minolta focused on executing multichannel public relations and social media activities, initiatives and campaigns. The Public Relations Manager develops and implements communications strategies and tactics, maintains a news drumbeat, while managing press and analyst relations.


You must possess the ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams within the company, and take initiative to turn plans into action quickly and effectively. Strong writing skills and media outreach skills are a must, as well as the ability to think creatively to develop pitches targeting business and trade press, and social media influencers and bloggers.

Essential Job Functions

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the company to develop communications and supporting public relations strategies that penetrate across all integrated marketing channels, including but not limited to social media, industry and trade publications, press and customer events, trade shows, webinars, interviews, and corporate events
  • Build and drive PR programs for the company’s hardware technology, information management and IT services businesses, including products and solutions launches, vertical markets, alliances and channel to increase brand awareness that aligns with strategic business goals and objectives
  • Work closely with the Corporate Communications team to create compelling and creative public relations content to support go-to-market campaigns
  • Manage and maintain constant flow of weekly news and press releases
  • Develop and execute on plans to positively promote Konica Minolta Business Solutions products and solutions among journalists, bloggers, industry analysts and influencers
  • Create media pitches that effectively communicate the company's messaging and positioning within the context of specific vertical markets and targeted industries
  • Win major editorial placements including news articles, features and product reviews
  • Foster positive relationships with journalists (business and trade) and industry bloggers that cover, or should cover, Konica Minolta Business Solutions
  • Coordinate periodic briefings with key trade press and analysts
  • Coach company representatives and assist in the preparation of media interviews
  • Maintain public relations standards, policies and processes in alignment with corporate marketing and communications best practices
  • Develop metrics and reporting methods to measure and communicate the effectiveness and progress of PR initiatives

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Strong written and verbal communications, including speech writing and presentation skills
  • Experience with all branches of the media – press, broadcast, internet, and social media
  • Excellent project management skills – manage multiple tasks, assemble and direct required resources, track and report progress, and ensure critical deadlines are met
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience working with senior executives and cross-functional teams
  • Budget Control – manage the PR budget, working closely with the direct report(s) and vendors to maximize the most positive coverage for the dollars spent
  • Team Leader who enjoys working in a fast paced marketing environment

Experience, Educational Reqts and Certifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in a technology field, PR experience and IT media relationships preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and/or a combination of education and experience BtoB experience preferred, graduate degree a plus
