Position Objective

Konica Minolta currently has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Product Marketing Manager!

 

As an Assistant Product Marketing Manager, you will be part of a team that guides, launches and manages solutions within a product line category which delivers a measurable contribution as a business unit. This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products to identifying new products for the company.

 

Based on your industry experience and your interaction with customers and prospects you will be expected to help manage Konica Minolta and ISV/HSV (Independent Software and Hardware Vendors) products and ensure the collaboration with Marketing, Training, Product Marketing, Administration, Systems Support and Sales. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to deliver vision to reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand customer problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market. You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. As appropriate, you will work with an engineering counterpart to define product release requirements. You will work with Marketing Communications to define the product go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product family offering, working with the sales channels and key customers.

Essential Job Functions

  • Aid Product Marketing Managers in managing price and cost data, product descriptions and product hierarchies
  • Develop content for presentations, demonstrations, datasheets, white papers, customer case studies that highlight the value proposition of the Konica Minolta solutions portfolio
  • Prioritize the implementation of new features and set specific timelines
  • Interface with sales teams in supporting their solutions sales
  • Liaise with the Marketing department to ensure proper advertisement and positioning of new products
  • Help define product pricing and SKU strategies
  • Work with Vertical Solutions Managers to assist with the creation of a complimentary portfolio of vertical and horizontal solutions
  • Suggest product enhancements to improve user experience
  • Conduct research to identify customer needs and market gaps
  • Prioritize the implementation of new features and set specific timelines
  • Input product details and ordering processes into SAP

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • This position requires occasional travel to customer and non-customer sites in North America
  • You are analytical and a good writer
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous work experience as an Associate Product Manager, Product Marketing Manager or similar role, in the technology industry
  • Have a strong understanding with a successful track record for technology and innovation
  • Strong written and oral communication skills at multiple levels of an organization with organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other Office products

Experience, Educational Reqts and Certifications

  • BA or BSc, degree with a Bachelor of: Marketing, Commerce, Business or Bachelor of Management or Project Management Studies preferred
  • 2-4 years’ experience in technology marketing
