Position Objective

The DCC Support Engineer is responsible for supporting lower level support teams in solving issues related to the tools for a particular customer from the field, operating system configuration, deployment and administration of different tools for remote management and monitoring in production / test / development environments.


The incumbent must have very solid work experience, skills and maturity, as well as

willingness to share and act as buddy for junior part of the team. A team player attitude is required because this role is within new global/virtual team where members of the team are located in Europe, NA and in future also APAC.

Essential Job Functions

As member of high level support team, responsibilities will include:

  • Systems administration of supported applications running on various Linux operating systems. 
  • Troubleshooting application performance and reported problems in collaboration with SW developers, architects and IT support teams.
  • Administration of our remote management and monitoring systems.  Application account management in accordance with Konica Minolta’s access and security processes and policies.
  • Support application developers with testing and release schedules. Coordinate application changes and deployment with other support teams and KM IT. 
  • Manage and track application availability and performance.  Investigate alerts and incidents.
  • Share knowledge and expertise across support and SW development teams.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

Qualified individuals should possess high quality skills obtained by practical experience and a willingness to constantly learn and become a subject matter expert.

  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services.
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service.
  • Good communication skill, which includes English on fluent level. Technical documentation or process writing skills are welcome.
  • Ability to work as a team member and over regions is a must.
  • Knowledge of virtualization is an advantage (KVM, LXD, Docker, VMware).
  • Knowledge of Enterprise class security principles and compliance controls.

Experience, Educational Reqts and Certifications

  • Highly proficient with Linux Administration, including experience with remote installation/deployment on various Linux platforms.
  • Experienced with automation/configuration management.
  • Basic scripting bash and/or Python (aimed on task automation)
  • Hands-on experience in some of the systems below:
    • Monitoring solutions (ScienceLogic or similar)
    • Backup/Restore solutions (Acronis, Veeam, or similar)
    • Log management and analysis systems (ELK or similar)
    • Remote Linux administration solutions (LandScape or similar)
    • Cloud Management platforms (ServiceNow)
    • ITSM (ServiceNow)
  • Experience with SQL and non-SQL is an advantage.
