Position Objective

Based in Ramsey, NJ and reporting to the Senior Vice President Human Resources, the Director Human Resources Business Partner is a key leader on the HR leadership team and strategic HR partner to senior executives based at the corporate headquarters.  Through strong relationship management, this newly created role will provide data-based proactive consultation and solutioning to executives in support of business objectives.  This role is also responsible for leading the development and implementation of talent management programs across the region.

Essential Job Functions

  • Build trusting relationships with leaders, HR team members and partners to enable effective and efficient execution of plans.
  • Share data that helps leaders understand their organization and operational challenges to influence solutions.
  • Partner with COEs to provide strategic guidance and implementation recommendations to enable organizational acceptance of new and improved policies, processes and initiatives.
  • Communicate vision, purpose and benefit to leaders and their teams to ensure understanding.
  • Support line managers in forecasting and planning their talent pipeline requirements in line with the function or business strategy.
  • Lead the design and implementation of HR programs, processes and initiatives across regions in partnership with Regional HR leaders and COEs.
  • Work with leaders to calibrate talent and build and execute succession plans.
  • Coach leaders on opportunities to enhance effectiveness.
  • Build and execute change management plans to ensure adoption of strategic HR initiatives.
  • Coach and guides senior leaders through complex employee relations issues and conducting thorough and objective investigations as needed.
  • Work closely with leadership to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and engagement, ensure leadership and employees have a direct and productive working relationship including open communications and problem solving.
  • Continually benchmark external regulatory trends and leading practices in Human Resources and inspire a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Facilitate onboarding and new leader assimilation for key roles.
  • Work with SVP HR on special projects.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Strong employee relations experience is a must, including experience managing difficult situations and/or investigations.
  • Experience leading self and others through large scale organizational and HR transformational change.
  • Experience in a complex matrix organization preferred.

Experience, Educational Reqts and Certifications

  • 15+ years, or equivalent, of progressive talent management, human resources or related leadership experience required.
  • Masters or MBA preferred.  SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification a plus.
  • No Relocation available with this position.
