Position Objective

Konica Minolta currently has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Business Development Services in it's Corporate Business Development Services Department, located in Ramsey, NJ

 

Main responsibilities will include leading and developing strategic alignment with key stakeholders by partnering with the SME’s of the growth areas to fully understand and support business initiatives. The strategies will be communicated to the Corporate Business Development team to ensure Konica Minolta’s priorities and key initiatives are aligned and represented during the RFP response process.

 

Additionally, managing the proposal team responsible for Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Information (RFI) for Global, Enterprise and Facilities Management development. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for implementing and managing the process for all company new business proposals and support the business development team and sales team in the creation of all sales proposals. This person will be responsible for effectively communicating with all departments and subject matter experts to support all phases of the proposal process.

 

This position will also be responsible for managing a team of analysts and coordinators to meet the overall requirements in supporting KMBS Corporate Business Development Group and the Direct Sales Organization.

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage, coach and mentor the strategy and operations of the assigned team members
  • Interface with product marketing, legal, service, sales and various groups within the organization to produce customer ready proposals while providing competitive positioning strategy to produce a winning proposal
  • Review and respond to requests for proposals (RFPs) and request for information (RFIs), 
  • Support long-term strategy development including methods and approaches to achieve company new business objectives and will provide status to the Director of Business Development
  • Ensure effective communication within the RFP response team and with other key stakeholders
  • Recommend and implement process and procedure improvements
  • Manage projects as assigned
  • Identify, analyze and prioritize risks and issues. Summarize and escalate to executive management for review and approval

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Must have extensive project management experience and the ability to manage the RFP response team to meet the customer specified due dates
  • Strong leadership skills to engage and motivate a diverse group of employees
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication and written skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively and with confidence to interact with all levels and executive management.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Experience, Educational Reqts and Certifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (prior industry experience) or equivalent work experience

• Minimum of 2 years management/supervisory experience required.

• Broad knowledge and experience with all phases of RFP and proposal development in the business solution or related industry required.

• In-depth knowledge of RFP/RFI and pricing development.

• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office.
