Position Objective

The IP/PP Sr. Specialist supports the achievement of Konica Minolta’s market penetration and revenue goals through customer demonstrations and training at the CEC.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist with the training and onboarding of new National Customer Engagement Center IP/PP Specialist(s)

• Mentor IP/PP Specialist new hires in an effort to educate on best practices, company policies and procedures, etc.

• Consult with Product Management Team/CEC  Manager regarding National Customer Engagement Center IP/PP Specialist progress, training and onboarding recommendations and provide overall feedback to maximize new hire’s learning and success

• Support Product Managers by assisting with item set ups, pricing approvals, collateral development, proofing, participating in training initiatives, internal webinars, launch webinars, etc.

• Develop Production Print, Industrial Print, Specialty Print product training-related materials to support sales efforts – videos, eBooks, battle cards, media guide, etc. (requires working closely with Product Manager to determine resources required)

• Conduct Product-related training for sales personnel, including best ways to demo the equipment and applicable solutions

• Monitor spare parts, supplies (toner, etc.) and paper inventory and assist with ordering respective items to maintain adequate inventory levels in an effort to ensure high-uptime for all engines and that necessary supplies are on hand to meet customer demonstration, sample media request, etc. demands

• Assist CEC Director as needed in maintaining media relationships with 3rd party paper vendors

• Work with CEC Director to meet Japan paper testing requirements and paper testing requests; support National CEC IP/PP Specialist as needed

• Effectively test vast area of media, customer files and complete test reports using established templates and formats

• Demonstrate Cut-sheet Toner, Production Print, Industrial Print, Specialty Print, Wide Format engine operations during Customer Product Demonstrations (Sales personnel is responsible for customer demonstration)

• Assist in the creation of competitive analysis (full-product line up) for the field, including undertaking the responsibility of developing competitive collateral for the field based on findings, feedback, etc.

• Responsible for collection of competitive data  (full-product line up)

• Prepare and print relevant marketing media samples (covering full product line up) for field sales

• Perform color quality checks on all lab equipment and print shop equipment

• Manage and maintain all equipment in the test lab and cloud data.  

• Primary interface to third party solution vendors based on assigned products

• Participate in trade shows, meetings and seminars affecting the perception, influence and sales of these products, including third party vendor participation

• Visit customers as required (will be determined by Management)

• Engage in learning activities required to maintain current knowledge of assigned products and essential business practices

• Responsible for ensuring engines are running efficiently, proper paper is loaded, ready for demonstrations, 

• Travel as required (approximately 20%)

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

• Excellent written/verbal communication skills • Understand graphic arts print standards, ISO, GRACol, SWOP, G7

• Proficient in InDesign, Photoshop, MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows Operating System and MAC OS 

• Ability to learn new technology quickly and thoroughly; must recognize need for constant education (formal training as well as self-teaching)

• Readiness to delve into overlapping areas of responsibility to increase overall knowledge of Konica Minolta Production Print portfolio (technical training, marketing/sales training, business training courses, etc.)

• Willingness and motivation to learn on an ongoing basis

• Adaptability to change; tasks, responsibilities often change based on market demands, immediate customer needs, etc.; this position requires an individual that can easily adjust to change in direction and duties

Experience, Educational Reqts and Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Arts,  or equivalent combination of education and experience

• 3+ years solid product knowledge including software and print solutions, applications, and software utilities in a graphic arts workflow

• Experience in project management skills
