Position Objective

SymQuest, a subsidiary of Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. currently has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Operations! 

  • As a member of SymQuest’s Executive Team, work together with President and other VP’s to build a quality company with individuals who effectively balance customer satisfaction with business goals, by effectively recruiting, developing, motivating, and managing.
  • Implement Professional Development Plans for every member of our Operations Teams to maintain our competitive edge.
  • Deliver financial results that meet industry standards and models of profitability
  • Perform quarterly facility inspections to ensure the proper representation of our brand in all of our locations. 
  • Achieve industry and KM averages for equipment, toner and parts turns. (Averages will be reviewed and distributed monthly)
  • Obtain 100% compliance to safety rules and OSHA guidelines.
  • Automate processes to reduce administration costs and increase productivity.
  • Monitor pricing levels to achieve accelerated averages for parts & toner margins
  • Be an “Ambassador” for SymQuest and “the SymQuest Way” with every client, employee, and vendor relationship.

Essential Job Functions

  • Effectively manage Warehouse, Purchasing, Delivery & Inventory Control Personnel
    • Manage the process of procuring inventory, receiving it and maintaining accurate counts, with the goal to reduce errors;
    • Manage existing vendor relationships as well as develop new vendor partner relationships to ensure superior performance and cost competitiveness (ie. Cost of Goods, Freight, etc);
    • Sustain low inventory cycle count and physical count variances by reviewing procurement and fulfillment processes;
    • Proactively manage inventories to maximize product turns and fill rates and minimize obsolescence and write-downs;
    • Develop financial budgets (operating and capital) for items related to delivering product and services to the marketplace;
    • Educate staff on proper Safety to prevent accident and injury;
    • Automate process(es) to increase productivity and efficiency;
    • Manage the process of warranty claims (ie. HP, Kyocera);
    • Negotiate with vendors wholesaling of used equipment;
    • Work with VP of Sales & Marketing to ensure demonstration floors are equipped and operative;
    • Arrange the efficient shipment of copiers to be returned to third party companies in a timely fashion;
    • Maintain pricing/product information in company databases.
    • Manage the need, use, and repair of all SymQuest-owned or leased vehicles;
    • Ensure proper safety measures are being used as it relates to the use of the vehicles;
    • Ensure vehicle-use is being maximized before hiring other transport vehicles.
  • Effectively manage the Shop Personnel
    • Manage the accurate and timely setup of all copiers/printers for installation;
    • Focus on improving the quality of the output of our products to our clients;
    • Continuously review what features can be configured on a copier/printer in the Shop versus in the field, to minimize field time and eliminate the amount of resources required at a Client installation.
  • Effectively manage SymQuest Facilities (main office and remote offices)
    • Negotiate facility contracts and leases as it relates to building maintenance for quality and cost competitiveness;
    • Maintain a lease database of all locations to ensure proper management of lease termination and extension(s);
    • Manage, approve and coordinate all construction projects in a SymQuest facility;
    • Ensure facilities are free of harmful hazards, whether chemical, physical or otherwise;
    • Proactively review security of SymQuest facility building to ensure the highest level of protection without impeding fluid ingress/egress;
    • Respond as needed to other department’s needs as it relates to facility changes;
  • Effectively manage the Project Administrator Document Solutions
    • Balance the volume of requests by working closely with sales administration and project administration;
    • Build an effective delivery process for our entire Document Solutions Organization to ensure client satisfaction and efficiency of service delivery process.  Responsibility spans all products and services related to SymQuest document solutions.

  • 3-5 years in Senior Leadership Position
