Position Objective

Konica Minolta currently has an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Agent!

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop purchase quantities based on analysis of current inventories, sales forecasts, sales histories, vendor incentive programs, and budgeted inventory levels
  • Make recommendations to management on issues concerning procurement and inventory
  • Provide expected delivery time information to the sales force and technical set-up team
  • Develop ongoing policies and procedures for the purchasing department
  • Maintain working knowledge of current vendor purchasing programs
  • Minimize cost of inventory
  • Assist in negotiating prices and terms with vendors
  • Track and pursue all available purchasing credits
  • Place all orders via the Internet, fax and telephone
  • Produce purchase orders
  • Reconcile purchase orders to shipping documents and invoices
  • Communicate status of all back ordered products
  • Evaluate vendor’s service in relation to other vendors and the ideal
  • Produce summary reports for management
  • Processing and auditing invoices

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Buying/purchasing experience
  • Experience with complex data analysis
  • Demonstrated ability at meeting budgeted numbers
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Excellent written, telephone and in-person communication skills
  • Ability to deal with frequent interruptions and still maintain a high degree of accuracy
  • Task oriented
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Sense of ownership in minimizing inventory costs

Experience, Educational Reqts and Certifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 1 year in a purchasing role
